Cosmetology

The cosmetology course prepares the student for a successful and rewarding career as a licensed cosmetologist.  Through theory and practical training the student will gain the knowledge, skills and the ability to competently:

1.       Pass the state licensing examination.

2.       Protect the health and safety of the customer.

3.       Solve the customer’s hair, nail and skin problems.

4.       Exhibit artistic ability in hair design.

5.       Recognize the need for keeping abreast of the latest trends and techniques.

During 1500 hours Hillsdale Beauty College offers a carefully planned course to provide well rounded training in cosmetology and its related fields.  This course not only enables the student to receive training in cosmetology, but also to become a truly professional person.  The first 10 weeks are spent in the classroom where the training includes lectures, demonstrations and practice in moldings, shaping, pincurling, facials, makeup, manicuring and personal improvement.  Each student receives a new mannequin of their own for practice work.  After earning 350 hours, students follow a schedule that includes classroom and public clinic experience.  They begin the study in the mechanics of design and the art of hair styling.  Home assignments and a wide variety of styles and projects are assigned to each class.

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify.
